Aging out with Pioneer!

This is my final summer with Pioneer, and DCI in general. Without the help of sponsors this season would not be possible. You can roam around here and see what goes on over the summer, and you can even get a bit of a feel for the kind of person I am. If possible, you can donate to one of the links below, or just spread the word!

If you would like to donate, please get in touch with me at Jameschilders09@gmail.com. I would absolutely love to hear from you!

I have some people I need to thank too…

Thank you, Jen for accepting bringing me into the corps, helping me with my medication, doing everything you could for me, and teaching me to A.B.A.B.A
Thank you, Pioneer for giving me the family I’ve always wanted.
Thank you, Santa Clara for the Cake with the Trinity. That night was meant to happen…
Thank you, Troopers for the string for our marimbas when we needed it.
Thank you, Blue Saints for allowing us to use your gong on such short notice.
Thank you, MCDC for not killing us when we stole your cymbals!
Thank you, people of St. Claire for being so hospitable when we arrived in your quiet town at 3am.
Thank you, Murray for taking me to the hospital on multiple occasions.
Thank you, Phantom Regiment for the Beef Stroganoff and kool-aid!
Thank you, Kellen for being completely awesome all season. You didn’t get enough recognition last year.
Thank you, Blue Coats for being respectful and not playing while we were trying to get work done.
Thank you,  Pacific Crest for not being mad at us for coming in and being loud to our shared housing in Texas
Thank you, Charlie for providing comic relief to us when we all needed it.
Thank you, Adam Hall for making me fall in love with being in front ensemble.
Thank you, Adam Hill for moving me to Synth, it was the best time of my life.
Thank you, Roman for making sure we would all experience the best summer of our lives, for pushing the corps into it’s 50th year of existence, and teaching us what Better Every Day, and Class is all about.
Thank you, Lord… for the hard working members of the corps, and the corps itself.

This is Crash, one of my best friends who I never would’ve met without Pioneer. This guy’s devotion to the corps is truly inspiring.

If I was crazy wealthy, I would use my money to reactivate one of the historic all female corps. Given the current economics of DCI, I don’t think we’ll ever get the chance to see an all female corps compete (Open, World Class or even DCA) and that makes me sad. Even…

There used to be an all female corps. The corps was stationed in Canada. The Corps director came to our 50th anniversary campfire on the night we got our shamrocks. They were the Bandettes and lasted from 1963 - 2004. I do believe we (pioneer) had a lot of their old equipment…

What’s goin’ on?

So Honestly, If you see some things pop up here in random orders here’s why. I’m going to try as much as possible to match pictures and videos to the correct date from this past summer. When, or if I go back this summer I WILL have a laptop with me the whole season and I will be continuously updating from day to day with pictures and videos. I think it’ll be a cool experience to blog through the full 80 days of tour. If you’re following me already, there will be more videos coming soon, along with pictures, so don’t forget to check the timeline!

This is my Pioneer Percussion family, without a doubt the best summer of my life, I wouldn’t trade this for the world.
